Job details

Huntingdonshire District Council is urgently seeking to recruit Door Supervisors to work for the Shared Service with Cambridge City to cover events for public safety, property protection and to detect and deter crime and disorder.

Your shifts will be as and when required. As much notice will be given as possible to make you aware of events that are needed to be covered.

You will be working closely with Cambridgeshire Police on incident management, and other clients and partner agencies with the aim to make the areas of coverage safer for the public, while respecting their right to privacy via the control room over radio.

Dealing sensitively with upset or distressed members of the public, requires a calm, compassionate, understanding but practical attitude to positively assist and or advise as required Under the Conflict resolution scenario.

The role can be demanding at times during emergencies and requires a professional and calm approach to situations that can vary greatly.

Successful candidates will require to hold and retain the necessary SIA DS licence.

Key Duties:

  • Control entry and exit on sites at planned events

  • Maintain order in a polite but firm manner using your Door Supervisor training skills

  • Close the event and check the premises, ensuring that you report on the checklist any damage or rubbish left

  • Complete all paperwork for the customer

  • You will be responsible for setting the alarm and locking the premises at the end of the event

  • Must be able to communicate with the control room via radio and have the ability to report any incidents accurately.

This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
