Job details

Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner who has a good eye for detail? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

About the role

An opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team to support the strategic vision of the council.

The role of the Finance Business Partner is to promote, support and develop the provision of financial data and analysis to the council, so that it is able to complete and prepare accurate records of its income, expenditure, assets and liabilities in accordance with accounting standards and its Code of Finance. They play a vital role in the development of financial strategies across the council’s services and are relied upon for their guidance and challenge.

The Finance Business Partner will work with colleagues to provide high-quality financial support to directors, heads of services, and budget managers, helping them develop the knowledge and insight to effectively manage their budgets. This is a key role and requires good communication and technical skills to ensure that the finance services provided are professional and customer-focused.

About you

An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, you have an accountancy qualification and will be experienced in using Office 365 and financial management systems. Self-motivated and proactive, you will have previous finance business partnering experience and be able to manage your workload with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of local government finance would be useful but not essential. You'll be known for your reliability, attention to detail and organisation, alongside a collaborative and proactive approach.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
