We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to lead and deliver marketing, communications and promotional activity across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. This role will develop and implement strategies that increase engagement, participation and income, while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire.
You will oversee digital and print communications, including websites, social media and the One Leisure App, ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels. Working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders – including members, partners, schools, contractors, and local community groups – you will deliver targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives that meet the needs of diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in marketing within the leisure, events, or hospitality sectors, with proven skills in campaign delivery, budget management, and project coordination. You will be highly organised, digitally literate, and confident in influencing colleagues and senior management to adopt innovative marketing approaches.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality, engaging experience for the community across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. The purpose of the role is to plan, develop, and implement marketing and communications strategies that increase participation, maximise attendance and drive income, while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire District Council services.
Working closely with colleagues across Leisure, Events and Council teams, you will translate HDC’s vision into effective campaigns, ensuring communications are clear, consistent, and impactful. You will also engage with external stakeholders including members, partners, schools, and community groups, ensuring our services remain responsive to local needs and opportunities.

About you
You are an enthusiastic and proactive marketing and communications professional with a passion for the leisure, events or hospitality sector. You have proven experience in developing and delivering effect campaigns, managing budgets, and coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders. You have strong digital skills, with the ability to use social media, websites and other communication tools to engage and inform diverse audiences.
You are highly organised, able to work independently as well as part of a team and can adapt to changing priorities with confidence. Your excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills enable you to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners and the wider community. You are motivated by making a tangible impact, inspiring participation and promoting the positive image of services and facilities in line with Huntingdonshire District Council’s values.

For many of our roles (and where it is possible) we are currently working remotely and anticipate in the future returning to a hybrid office model on a flexible basis. This will still include work from home and flexi-time opportunities in order to provide a good work life balance whilst still ensuring that teams benefit from in person interaction. Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
