Job details

We are looking for a Risk and Controls Officer who will be responsible for providing professional advice and guidance on risk management across the organisation. Ensuring the council's activities are managed in line with its risk management strategy, which is a key part of the council's governance and assurance processes.

To work with Service Managers to articulate the risks in their services, assess the level of these, and make sure appropriate mitigating actions are noted and risk registers remain a live environment which are reviewed and updated regularly. You will work alongside other governance teams to provide assurance to senior officers and Councillors that the safeguards and controls implemented are effectively deployed and complied with.

The ideal candidate will have worked in risk management or a controls and compliance environment previously. To possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work independently; this is a diverse role which will suit a proactive and confident individual.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and are unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.

Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
