The scheme

The HDC Community Events Grant Scheme is now open! The scheme, funded by the UKSPF Vibrant Communities Fund 2025/26, is available to community groups (non-precepting organisations) across the district, to support local community events.

Awards of between £200 and £1,000 are available to support community events designed to build pride in place, community engagement and social activity.

To apply, please complete the online form below.  There is no closing date — the scheme will remain open until all funds have been allocated.

Applications will be reviewed by the Grant Panel and awarded on a first come, first served basis. Retrospective applications will not be considered.

Scheme rules/terms and conditions

  • Applicants must be community groups based in the district (town and parish councils, individual or commercial organisations are not eligible).

  • The organisation must have a dedicated bank account for payment of funds.

  • Only one application per community group / organisation is permitted.

  • Events must be held within the district and delivered before 31 March 2026

  • Events must be open to all.

  • Evidence of expenditure must be provided to support grant payment.

  • Grants of between £200 and £1,000 may be awarded - they may not be used to pay VAT. All payments will be made electronically.

  • Applications will not be considered for projects that promote or oppose any particular political party or religion, or discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, age, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic.  

  • The award of a grant does not infer any liability or responsibility of behalf of Huntingdonshire District Council.  It remains the responsibility and liability of the successful applicant to ensure compliance of any activity or project funded in whole or part with any legal and/or statutory requirements which may be required.

  • Decisions made by the reviewing panel are final, there is no right of appeal.
